About Aaron Pellot
I have spent my career as a media creative seeking unique ways to construct effective intercommunity dialogue. Intersectional perspectives are a pivotal piece of my work, from my time as a writer, speaker, media producer/host, and community engagement.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, my formative years were spent in South Carolina. The South very much raised me, I received my Bachelor’s Degree, in Political Science, from the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. It was here I began my career in media, as a writer, with the university paper, and as a part-time radio host for the local ESPN Radio affiliate. After graduation, I began working for ESPN, in Bristol, Connecticut, before moving back to New York City, to work for CBS Sports Network.
After a second stint in New York City, I relocated to Long Beach, California, where I worked in community relations for the Los Angeles Clippers, and as a traffic reporter for iHeartMedia, with work broadcasted across Southern California. I later decided to attend graduate school and received my Master’s Degree in Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego. At USD I studied theories in peace studies, including international negotiation, human rights advocacy, and peace and conflict analysis.
Photography has always been a unique part of my life. I remember my mom sending a disposable camera with me on every field trip I had. This passion was later encouraged during my second stint in New York City, as a way to slow down and breathe in the city. Again in San Diego, I was reminded to document the everyday. My style of photography is mostly based in the various streets I travel around the world, while I also work in professional portrait sessions, event photography, and wedding photography. My style is documentary storytelling, always looking for the moments in the spaces we pass through.
In my spare time, I play and watch sports (Knicks, Yankees, L.V. Aces, Chargers, Liverpool F.C.). I’m on Xbox Live and Playstation with my boys back in the States and always enjoy the cuisine of Southeast Asia, where I travel and currently live with my wife in Singapore. While I am based out of Singapore, I am available worldwide for projects.
